Beth of BethFishReads tagged me for this fun photo meme. I must find the fifth folder of photos, and pick the fifth photo within that, and share it with you. Yikes. I'm a little nervous. OK, I'm going to go find it...
I guess that wasn't so bad. This came from my folder with my pictures that I used for my 2008 calendar that I did for family members. There was probably a 75% chance it would be something of the kids, and this is one I took of them when we were exploring a lighthouse in St. Augustine Florida. Lighthouses are sort of a new hobby we have adopted. We seek them out wherever we go. At some point, I am going to do a month or two of Wordless Wednesdays just with my lighthouse pictures!
Next I tag some more people who I think may be interested in playing:

I recognized the lighthouse as soon as I saw that picture. I was just there, at the St. Augustine lighthouse, a couple of weeks ago, a nice break from my usual NJ lighthouses. I hope to have the post about it up shortly.
Very cool photo. I love the perspective. And the kids are cute too! Thanks for being a sport and playing along.
Very nice pic, thanx for the tag.. I posted it here..

Caite - that is such a coincidence that you saw this same lighthouse! It quite a beautiful one...its been very nicely restored. I will look for your post!
Beth - thanks for the tag. I lucked out on the picture...I've got alot of bad ones out there!
Desert Rose - thanks for playing! I will go check out yours.
We don't really have lighthouses in California. I think there are probably six in the whole state and they're all a bit on the short side.
If you love lighthouses you simply must visit the coast of Maine. C.J. and I spent a week there one summer and loved it. Lots of very cool lighthouses, many with a keeper's house attached, too.
I love that picture. All our pictures of lighthouses are from the outside - really cool perspective you provided.
We posted today on the Friend award you bestowed upon us. Thanks again!
James - I have seen some amazing pictures of the east coast lighthouses, particularly the Maine ones. I'm hoping we get up there at some point to check them out. There are still a few more in FL that we haven't even seen yet. I love the ones that are open to climb, and the keeper's houses that have been made into mini-museums. The Ponce Inlet one here in FL is the best I have seen.
Bumbles - I remember one of your posts with a lighthouse from Sanibel I think. You are right...it is nice to be able to get inside them, but often you can't.
I love lighthouses. They covey a sense of serenity and dignity, thriving in silence.
Happy Valentine's Day! :)
Matt - yes, they are like the soldiers defending against all evil. Lighthouses touch a premieval being in all of us, I think. That is why we are all drawn to them!
Maine...Saine.... ;-)
We have some very nice...very tall lighthouse right here in NJ! The oldest operating in the US Sandy Hook, the third tallest in the US, Cape May...two of the mosy ugly, Right Here!
Caite, those are awesome lighthouses! I do remember reading that NJ had a number of them...I need to do a road trip right up the East Coast!
Thanks for tagging me, Sandy! Will try to post it soon.
regarding eatonville, I google pictures of the town during Hurston's time. It's just fascinating. Until I finished reading the novel, i thought eatonville was a fictional town! This perfectly explains how reading an author's bio really helps!
