Wordless Wednesday

I took this shot several weeks ago on a camping trip. We were hiking through an area where there had been a controlled burn, and all the trees looked like this one. It was a spooky sight. For more Wordless Wednesday photos, click here.

Love the blue sky... and the tree sure looks creepy to me!

That is eerie. The contrast against the sky works really well!

Wow, it looks like an alien's arm, or something out of a Stephen King Novel. I like the angle you caught.

You can imagine the creepiness of seeing a whole forest of trees that looked like this! My kids wanted to get through it as soon as possible...they were getting the Stephen King vibe too. Ever since I started posting Wednesday Wonders, I'm always on the lookout for the odd angle or the overlooked oddity!

I'd love to see those trees at dusk. I bet that would be really creepy. Okay, I'd rather not. I'm a big wimp.

Anna - that thought did actually occur to me, but this particular area of trees was about a hour out from our campground, and I hate hiking at dusk. Plus we would have had to hike past a marshy area (still can't get the dead people in the marshes from LOTR out of my head.) My imagination gets the best of me!

The city government is transplanting these creepy tree cones to our Presidio National Reserve. If one looks creepy, imagine being greeted by at least 15 of these that come in all sizes!

A nice shot though. :)
