Some friends of the Bumbles are getting ready to take the plunge and build a house (something my husband and I have never attempted!) and were checking out Molly and Andy's handiwork. Which of course inspired Molly to come up with this week's topic...movies about building. And it doesn't necessarily have to be about building houses or skyscrapers. This is a chance to get creative, but there are only so many of those brain cells firing at 5:30 in the morning. This is what you get today from me:
1. The Social Network - building Facebook
2. The Wall - building an imaginary wall between yourself and reality
3. Tucker: The Man and His Dream - building an ultimately ill-fated supercar
4. Iron Man - building a cool flight suit
5. Miracle - building a hockey team that would defeat the Russians and win the 1980 Olympics
I'm excited to see what ideas come from this topic today. What are some of your ideas?

What about the Hugh Grant movie, "The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain" - in which they build a mountain out of a (mole)hill?
Sandy, I love this meme! You always come up with interesting topics that perk up the ole' brain :D Here's some ideas:
Life as a House- building a house
The Terminal- building a fountain
Under the Tuscan Sun- renovating a villa
Field of Dreams- building a baseball diamond
I like your movie picks! I had a bit of a tough time with this theme!
Love the movie Miracle. Iron Man is a great choice!
Iron Man got me laughing! He definitely did build one awesome butt-kicking suit.
Inception is what popped into my mind: building dreams, elaborate architectural dreams....
I am right with Trish and would have to say Inception. I know there are a few other examples of building movies, but I can't think of another one right now!! I live that you included The Wall.
Love your picks! Especially The Social Network :)
Young Frankenstein--building a monster.
Star Wars: A New Hope--building a Death Star.
I was going to say Inception (because we watched it on dvd last night) but I see that others beat me to it.
Tucker! Man, that was a weird movie. I had to watch it for a sociology class back in the day. Great list!
Nice way to work in Floyd!
Fun topic.
I haven't seen The Social Network yet and have heard that it is really, really good!
I'm late to the party as usual but I do have some that aren't already mentioned:
The Bridge on the River Kwai. British prisoners of war build a railroad bridge in the Asian jungle only to blow it up in the end.
The Flight of the Phoenix. Original version. A group of men stranded in the African desert after a plane crash use the wreckage to built a new plane and fly home.
How about Dam Busters about British engineer/soldiers trying to build a bomb that will skim along the water, smash into dams and blow them up.
These are some serious guy movies.
