Not So Wordless Wednesday: Chicago #1




About a month before my husband and I made our annual trip to Chicago this August, this 26-foot sculpture of Marilyn Monroe was erected in Pioneer Square, on the 400 block of Michigan avenue.  It was quite the attraction.

Yes, she is wearing underwear.

For some reason I have a futuristic/sci-fi scene in my head where many thousands of years in the future they speculate on their giantess ancestors. ;)

Last time we were there we just did a drive-by because it was too hard to park. But this time we will be going to the Gleacher Center which is right behind it so I'll have a chance to check out the underwear situation...

I'd love to see this. I've always been fascinated by her life. I just finished reading an article about her in Vanity Fair and it was quite interesting.
