Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, since 1925 has contained the body of a young unidentified soldier that died in battle in 1918.
The best soup on earth that I could eat every day...Zurek. To my knowledge, we have nothing in the US that compares.
A testament to a life-long obsession with reading...

Poland looks lovely! What's in Zurek? Have you ever tried to make it?
I'm trying to figure out what's in that soup, too. Could be a Weekend Cooking post in there ;-)
That's so interesting that they have a tomb of the unknown soldier too! Makes you think of all the soldiers around the world that have lost their lives and were never given a proper burial.
Yes, we need a cooking post for that one!
I Googled that soup. It sounds very yummy. Rye flour, eggs, sausage. Yum yum!
I can't make any claims for Zurek, but have you been to the small soup places in Manhattan? Like the Soup Nazi's on Seinfield? I did go to one on my last trip to New York and oh my goodness.... I could totally understand why people might put up with the Soup Nazi for really good soup.
Great pics but what is in that soup? It looks like eggs. Anyway it looks yummy.
I'm thinking I need the recipe for Zurek as well!!
What is zurek made of?
Yes! Recipe please!
Nice pics!
And yes, tell us more about this soup. Must know!
Oh that soup looks yummy! Have you tried making it at home?
I want to go to Poland one day!
Now you've made me crave soup! Glad you had a great trip.
Any soup in a bread bowl must be good :)
