Not So Wordless Wednesday: Sopot #3

Behold, one of the best things you can eat in Poland...Zurek.  It is a sour rye soup that contains any number of goodies...potatoes, kielbasa, hard boiled eggs, you name it.  This particular eating experience included a bread bowl, which just about sent me over the edge.  I had it at an upscale French restaurant in Sopot Poland (Polish chef of course).  Sublime.

I've always loved the clam chowder you can get at San Francisco waterfronts, served in a sourdough bread bowl. Sounds a lot similar. Looks scrumptious!

Zurek..I have never heard of it. But with those ingredients, hoe bad could it be?

I love soup so that sounds good to me. Hard boiled eggs in it sounds really interesting.

I love bread bowls, but I've never attempted to make one myself. I think that I'm afraid it would leak! LOL

Soup looks yummy!

Oh, my little Polish stomach is rumbling! This looks amazing -- and would be perfect for a day like today. Cool and rainy and damp, with fall leaves blowing everyone... ahhh.

Oh, that does look wonderful! It reminds me a little of potato soup, but I am sure that it goes far beyond that. And a bread bowl? Drooling over here!

Sounds (and looks!) delicious! I love the topknot on the "cover" of the bread bowl.
